Secant Medical™ Launches New Branding Initiative and Marketing Programs Tailored to Medical Device Engineers

Redesigned logo, website, and sales tools are central to new business effort

Perkasie, Penna. – October 15, 2009 – Secant Medical™, the leading provider of design, development, and custom manufacturing services for biomedical textile structures, launched a new branding effort and a series of related marketing programs on October 15th to spur additional business opportunities for its services within the medical device industry. Specifically, the company has launched a dynamic new logo and positioning line, a rebranded website, new sales and marketing collateral, and an expanded trade media-based advertising and public relations program.

Biomedical textiles developed by Secant Medical are used in orthopedic, cardiovascular, tissue-engineered, and neurological devices, in addition to general surgery. The company counts many of the world's leading medical device companies among its customer base.

According to Karen West, general manager, although business was strong going into 2009, Secant Medical was at a critical point in its development. "We have been custom developing biomedical textiles for use in implantable devices for decades, with a great level of success," she says. "But our business stood at a cross-roads. We saw a tremendous opportunity to capitalize on our deep expertise in this specialized field by leveraging the resources available to us from our new parent organization Fenner, PLC. We realized it was time to achieve even more substantial gains in awareness and market penetration, and our exciting rebranding and marketing initiative is designed to move our business to an entirely new level."

The cornerstone of Secant Medical's new business development effort is a dynamic logo design that imparts to the business a branding focused on the energy behind Secant's strengths in specialized technology and knowledge. Coupled with the new logo is the company's new positioning line -- "Biomedical Textiles by Design" – a reference to Secant Medical's well-honed ability to meet the device design requirements of the medical field by using the technologies of the textile industry.

A recently rebranded website (www.secantmedical.com) will go live on October 15th, incorporating the company's new positioning and branding initiatives and providing more information for device designers and engineers.

Concurrently, new sales and marketing collateral and expanded efforts in trade media advertising and public relations are also being launched. These programs come on the heels of Secant Medical's September 2009 announcement about expanding its sales and business development team with the addition of two medical device industry experts.
